Our November monthly meeting was focused on remembering those who served in the armed forces and especially gave their lives for our country.
Gerry Taylor present a “A personal/family reminiscence from events of World War I” during which he spoke in the voice of his father who fought and was severely wounded in the front lines. His son, Gary, a member of the Niagara Police Service, described the trip that he and his son, James, took to the battlelfield where his grandfather had fought.
Hugh Gayler’s presentation was titled “Visiting the memorials, cemeteries and battlefields of the world”. The pictures he presented and the stories accompanying them provided a vivid insight into how different cultures around the world remembered those who served and those who died in service to keep us free.
